SAAHIP / SAVHIA South African Association of Hospital & Institutional Pharmacists Suid Afrikaanse Vereniging van Hospitaal en Inrigtings Aptekers

SAAHIP is the national professional association representing pharmacists who practise in institutions, for example hospitals, clinics and managed care organisations. It is a sector of the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA). This association is dedicated to advancing pharmacy practice in organised health care settings.

Objectives

• to promote, encourage, develop, support and foster discussion, research and study by the members of the Association, thereby maintaining and improving the status of pharmacy
• to consider and promote the profession and educational interests of its members and of the profession generally
• to promote and protect the economic interests of its members
• to uphold the professional integrity of hospital and institutional pharmacists
• to initiate and promote reforms and improvements in the laws relating to hospital and insitutional pharmacy and, where necessary, to support or oppose draft legislation
• to represent generally the views and interests of its members
